James W. Taylor, 78, formerly of Claremont died Saturday, June 13, 1987 in Deaconess Hospital in St. Louis. Services at Drehmann-Harral Chapel, St. Louis. Burial in Brush Creek Cemetery in Gray Summit, Mo.

Mr. Taylor was born February 20, 1909 in Kankakee, the son of Harry W. and Blanche Taylor. He married Ina Ruth Coyner in Overland, Mo.

Mr. Taylor was a retired employee of Monsanto Chemical Co. in St. Louis. He was a member of the Baptist Church in Pacific, Mo., Columbia Lodge #534 A.F. & A.M. in- St. Louis.

Survivors include his wife, Ina; three sons, George Taylor of Union, Mo.; Frank Taylor of St. Louis and Carl Taylor of St. Peter, Mo.; a daughter, Helen Lape of Troy; two brothers, Roger Taylor of Olney and Ralph Taylor of Louisville; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
