Clyde McCormick

Clyde Truman McCormick, 86, formerly of West Palm Beach, died Dec. 9, 1994 in Seattle, Wash. A private memorial service will be held on Dec. 26 in Seattle, where he has resided since moving from West Palm Beach early this year.
 
Dr. McCormick was born March 6, 1908 in Jasper County, Ill., a son of Charles and Ida McCormick. His wife of over 56 years, Vera McCormick, preceded him in death in Jan. 1994.
 
Survivors include two sons, Norman, Seattle, Wash., and Lyle, Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, Royal of Rock Falls, Ill., and Milo of Boynton Beach, Fla.; one sister, Frieda of Athens, Ohio; and grandchildren Ken and Nancy.
 
Dr. McCormick taught mathematics at Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois from 1944 to 1971 and was Head of the Mathematics Department from 1954 until 1971. He was a visiting professor at Palm Beach Atlantic College from 1971 until 1983. He was an active member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Lake Worth, Fla.
 
Memorials may be made to the local Alzheimer's Association or to the Church.
