Bertha E. “Bert” Hedrick Holmes, age 106, died August 14, 2013 in California. She was born August 14, 1907 in Richland County, daughter of Ivan Ulysses and Dora (Montgomery) Hedrick. She married William Horace Holmes on April 3, 1937. He died in 1978.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Dora Hedrick; brothers, George Franklin, William Lomis, and Robert Everett Holmes; sisters, Beulah Iva, Bessie Marie and Bernita Flossie.
