Ralph D. Seiler - Class Of 1926

Ralph D. Seiler

In the presence of a large group of friends, the funeral service of Ralph David Seiler, age 22,  was conducted Thursday morning October 31, 1929 at 10 o’clock in the First Methodist Church by his pastor, Reverend Randall B. Scott.

Ralph Seiler was born at Grand Prairie, Illinois April 29, 1907 the son of David and Matilda (Burgener) Seiler, and died in Glendale, Arizona October 27, 1929.  He was baptized on June 19 of the year of his birth by the Rev. L.C. Rettig of the German Reformed Church.  On June 4 of the year 1926 Ralph was graduated from the Olney Township High School.  After that time he worked with his father at the carpenters trade.

Two years ago Ralph, with his father and mother and sister, Mina, came to Glendale to make their home.  Soon after arriving he commenced work as a city employee and in that capacity he made a host of friends. He was an electrician and had never married.

Ralph was a good natured, happy boy and always a willing and conscientious worker.  All that knew him could not help but observe that life held much happiness for him.  Even in his final sickness, lasting about three months, he constantly saw the sunny side.  So responsive was he to the beauties of nature which God has lavished upon this part of creation that he wanted to have his last resting place in this sunny valley.

Besides his father and mother, David and Matilda Seiler and sister, Mina, Ralph leaves a host of relatives and friends in his home community in Illinois who mourn his departure.
