Charles Eddie Walters, 70, of Belleville, Illinois died Sunday, January 21, 1979 at the Memorial Convalescent Center in Belleville. Charles was born September 26, 1908 in Wayne County Illinois the son of Charles Eddy “C.E.” and Lois Ovella (Skelton) Walters.

Charles attended the Olney High School and the University of Illinois.  In 1929 he married Miss Delia Deneena Roberts.

He was a retired Auditor General at the Pentagon. He was a member of the Hillcrest Christian Church in Belleville; the Masonic Order at Marion, Illinois; and the Senior Citizens Club of Belleville.

He is survived by his wife, Deneena Walters; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (DeLois) Bartley of Gainesville, Florida; a brother, Robert Bell of Heritage, Missouri and three grandchildren.

Funeral services held at the Boldus-Radden Funeral Home in Belleville. Burial in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Belleville.
