Sara Irene Jacobs (Twomey)

Mrs. Sarah Irene Jacobs Twomey of Tucson, Arizona, formerly of Olney passed away Thursday July 25, 1968 in that city, according to word received here. The funeral was in Tucson.

Mrs. Twomey was the daughter of the late Rev. Alvin and Betty Jacobs and was born at Newton. She moved to Olney with her parents in 1915. She was a 1926 graduate of the Olney Township High School and later received her bachelors and masters degrees at the University of Illinois and taught home economics for several years. She had also operated a travel bureau.

Her husband, Arthur Twomey was an ornithologist and did research in bird life in North and South America for a number of years. She accompanied him on these trips.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a brother, Oral Jacobs, three sisters, Mrs. Etha May of Newton, Mrs. Susie Head and Miss Rubydean Jacobs of Arizona. A brother, Harold Jacobs was killed 20 years ago in a plane accident.
