Carl Ring

Dr. Sylvanus Carl Ring, age 64, founder of the Carl Ring Chiropractic Clinic at 402 South Fair, passed away very unexpectedly yesterday afternoon, February 12, 1968 at the Richland Memorial Hospital, where he was admitted as a patient Sunday morning.

A native of Decker Township in Richland County, Dr. Ring was the son of Sylvanus C. Ring and Elizabeth Daugherty Ring. He graduated from the OTHS with the Class of 1926. He taught schools in Richland County and then attended and graduated from the Palmer School of Chiropractics in 1928 when he came to Olney and founded the Carl Ring Clinic. He was a member of the Moose Lodge No. 1372 of Olney and Aerie 2549 Fraternal Order of Eagles of Olney.

He was married to Marie L. Kirk on August 15, 1926. She survives him.

Also surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Darryl (Elizabeth Ann) Doty of Flora and a grandson, Tony Doty. He also leaves the following brothers and sisters; Dr. W.H. Ring, Eli F. Ring and George J. Ring all of Noble; Mrs. Ruby Wright and Mrs. Chloe Diel both of Olney. Mrs. Ida Buckles of Champaign and Charles Ring of Denver, Colo.

He has been preceded in death by his parents, a son, Carl S. Ring Jr. and a brother, Verle Ring.

Funeral services at the Summers-Rainey Funeral Home with Dr. W.A. Robinson officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.
