Edward Eugene McVaigh, 49, of Olney, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at his home. Ed was born July 14, 1973 in Olney, the son of Eugene Edward and Karon Velva (Fisher) McVaigh.

Ed worked as a salesperson at Claybank Natural Foods Store, a quality engineer at NAL, one-time proprietor of The Red Door, and was a bartender at Papa Mike's. Ed enjoyed nature, poetry, reading, playing music, and laughing. He liked long philosophical conversations with friends and family. Ed was a loving brother and uncle. He had a love for all animals and had a deep respect for nature.

Ed is survived by his brother, John McVaigh and wife Danielle of York, PA; sister, Kathy Hixon and husband Tom of Claremont, IL; nieces and nephews, Ryan, Matthew, and Meghan McVaigh and Alexis and Jacob Hixon, and Dominic Savary; great nieces and nephews, Noah Hixon, Lance Walden, and Cora Hixon.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life for Ed will be held at the Claremont Community Building from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Friday, August 19, 2022. Cremation Rites were accorded. Memorials can be made to The Master's Hands.
