Anthony T. Hawes

Anthony Terrance “Tony” Hawes, age 52, of Olney, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024, in Mt Vernon, Illinois. Anthony, better known as “Tony” was born on December 27, 1971, to Charles Edward and Marilyn Kay (Ridenour) Hawes in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Tony loved the building trades, construction, and welding.  He worked for other construction companies for many years perfecting his craft.  Tony later went into welding and worked at Skyline Steel prior to starting his own construction company.  After many years of the heavy confines of construction and moved back to Olney, where he worked with his parents and helped his dad with keeping up the land and home.

Tony was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Tony loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.  He would often help them out in many ways and cared for them deeply.  Tony had the kindest soul and was always willing to help regardless of the circumstances. He grew up an Army Brat until fourth grade when then moved to Olney.  Football and the Olney Tigers was a true passion for him. Tony played the game with all his heart and soul.  He made many friends, and his teammates were his family as well. 

Tony met Lisa Clark early in high school and they later married and had four children together, Deborah Jean Hawes, Lisa Anjanette Hawes, Clair Jordan Hawes, and Trey Anthony Hawes. After many years together Tony and Lisa divorced but remained forever friends.  He then remarried and had his stepson Kameron Lee Morgan and daughter Brooklyn Paige Hawes.

Tony was loved by so many people and he touched many lives.  He loved animals, especially dogs, and helped to rescue over 75 of them and was a longtime friend and helper for Claws and Paws in Olney.

Parents - Charles Edward and Marilyn Kay (Ridenour) Hawes of Olney, Illinois
Children - Trey Anthny Hawes (fiancé Tara Hann) of Olney, Illinois;
Kameron Lee Morgan (girlfriend Madison Bahl) of Olney, Illinois; Lisa Anjenette Hawes of Washington, Indiana; and Brooklyn Paige Hawes (Lilyjean Voelkel) of Olney, Illinois
Brother - Charles Hollen Hawes (Donna Muhs-Hawes) of Claremont, Illinois 
Sister - Heather Elizabeth (Hawes) Benson (Robert) of Olney, Illinois
Grandchildren - Josephine Jean Lefer and Jasper Ezra Thorne Steben
Former Wife - Lisa Anjanette Clark of Billings, Montana

Tony was preceded in death by daughters Claire Jordan Hawes and Debora Jean Hawes and grandchildren Courtney Raign Hawes and Stephen Aiden Walthers

A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 PM - Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Meyer Funeral Home in Olney, Illinois.    Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until the time of service.  A private burial will be held.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made for Tony’s children.

Debbie Novak (Jones) (1970)

Tony went to high school and played football with our sons. I have not seen him in many years but I still want to express my sympathy to his family .
I read that Tony suffered the loss of 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren . Such pain is unimaginable .
