Mildred Gharst, 80, of Newton, died Saturday February 26, 1994 at Richland Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with Brother Havard Dasch officiating. Burial in Liberty Cemetery in Wakefield.

Gharst was born February 28, 1913 in Richland County, the daughter of Albert and Lulu (Tolliver) Wakefield. She married Leroy Dale Gharst on June 3, 1938 in St. Louis, Mo. He died August 15, 1992.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Liberty Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Roy Gharst and wife, Shelia of Effingham; two daughters, Mrs. Joy (Carol) Hazel of Noble and Mrs. Douglas ( Marilyn) Neller of Troy, Mich.; a brother, Arthur Wakefield of Olney; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild and twin nieces.

Gharst was preceded in death by her parents husband, and two sisters, Ada and Nellie.
