Wanda was born in Richland County Illinois, daughter of Fred and Martha Lambert. She was a member of St Thomas Parish and a retired registered nurse. She worked for Decatur Memorial Hospital for many years in many capacities. After retirement she continued to do volunteer work with the hospital auxiliary and the American Red Cross until moving to California in 2000 to be close to her daughter.

She was married to Sydney James in 1941, he died in 1974. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer James of Millbrae, CA, granddaughter Corey (Steven) Straits of Florida, and her sister Faye Gregson of St Louis. Wanda has one great granddaughter, Via Straits.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Bradley James, grandson Eric James and sisters Melva Silvas, Vivian Lambert and Eunice Buss.
