Vera Kesler (Hanes)

Vera D. Hanes, 93, of Dundas, died at 2:45 a.m. Easter Sunday, April 8, 2007, at Richland Care & Rehab in Olney. Funeral services at Trinity Lutheran Church in Olney with Rev. Gary B. Ryden officiating. Burial in Dundas Cemetery.

Mrs. Hanes was born July 10, 1913, near West Liberty, the daughter of Samuel F. and Maggie M. (Fritschle) Kesler. She married Charles I. Hanes on July 8, 1947. He preceded her in death on January 13, 1989.

She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church near Dundas. She was later a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Olney.

Prior to being a homemaker, she worked at Robb's Coffee House, Brown's Tea Room, Johnny's Garment Factory, Brown's Shoe Factory, and at Joe Meehan's as a caretaker of home and children.

Mrs. Hanes is survived by her daughters, Linda K. Hanes, of Dundas, and Mary Jane Hanes, of Dundas; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Bessie Piper, Dessie Kermicle, Verna Urfer, Isaac Kesler, Virl Kesler and William Kesler; and nephew, John W. Kesler.
