Berlin Campbell

Berlin Campbell, 72, Olney died Thursday September 26, 1985 in Olney Care Center.  Services at Zirkle Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Nettleton and Rev. Rolland Devor, Jr. presiding. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Campbell was born July 29, 1913 in Richland County, the son of Thomas L. and Ethel (Gallagher) Campbell. He married Catherine D. Brewer October 25, 1936 in Terre Haute, Ind. and she survives.

He retired in 1973 after 33 years as Institutional Dairy Advisory for the State of Illinois.

He was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church; a member of the United Methodist Men; was chairman of Heifer International Committee of Southern Illinois and also held several postiions on Southern Illinois Conference of Methodist Men.

He was Dairy Goat Superintendant for the Illinois State Fair for many years and was Dairy Goat Superintendent for the 1934 Chicago World Fair. He was also a member of Olney Lodge A.F. & A.M.

Other survivors include a son, Dan, Albuquerque, N.M.; two daughters Mrs, Glenna Brooks, Olney; Mrs. Sarah Akins, Lenoir N.C.; a brother, Albert Campbell, St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Collins, Elgin; Mrs. Nadine Meyer, Stanburg, Mo.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
