Charles Brooks

Charles H. Brooks, 84, of Chicago, formerly of Olney died Friday November 5, 1999 at Ravenswood Community Hospital in Chicago.  Funeral services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Rev. Gary B. Ryden officiating. Burial in Crest Haven Cemetery in Claremont with full military rites conducted by the Olney veterans.

Mr. Brooks was born January 27, 1915 in Olney, the son of Alva and Edna (Winans) Brooks. He married Kay Sylvester in 1972.

Mr. Brooks was a tool and die maker for an electronics manufacturer and was a member of the Ravenswood Masonic Lodge. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Brooks of Chicago; one son, Jerry Lee Swearingen and his wife, Jeri; four brothers, Walter, Kenneth, Alva and Robert Brooks; five sisters, Evelyn Burgener, Mable Holt, Jeannie Cantwell, Mildred Head and Mary Stewart; two grandchilden and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
