Jack Maxwell, 72 of Olney, died Wednesday December 13, 2000 at Lakeland Medical Center in Lakeland, Fla.  Funeral services at First United Methodist Church in Olney with Reverend Bruce Rushing officiating. Burial in Crest Haven Cemetery near Claremont.

Mr. Maxwell was born on October 16, 1928 in Oblong, the son of Clay Emrald and Mary Martha (Mitchell) Maxwell.

He graduated from Olney Township High School where he participated in Rifle Club and Photography Club. He was a member of First United Methodist Church for 52 years.

He worked at First National Bank in Olney for over 35 years until his retirement in 1987. His first marriage was to Barbara Jean Garrett in 1948. He later married Lela Mae Johnston July 22, 1979.

Mr. Maxwell is survived by his wife, Lela Maxwell of Olney; son, Mark Maxwell and his wife, Daryla of Claremont; daughter, Karen McDaniel of Lakeland, Fla.; a brother, Jerry Joe Maxwell of Cape Canaveral, Fla. and one grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
