Miriam Louise Getz, 86, of Olney passed on to be with her Lord on December 29, 2014 at Willowbrook Nursing Home in Effingham, IL

Miriam was born June 15, 1928 in Richland Co. Illinois. She was the first child of Albert and Della Linder. She married Russell Getz in 1951 at Saron Church of the Grand Prairie, and together they raised three sons.

Miriam was a long time active member of the First United Methodist Church in Olney and served many years as church secretary. She was well-known as a compassionate care giver, as she spent much time visiting nursing homes and those confined to their homes.

She is survived by three sons, Robert Getz and wife Linda of Jefferson City, MO, David Getz and wife Penny of Indianapolis, IN,and Paul Getz and wife Sue of Effingham, IL; grandchildren, Jordan (Amanda) Getz, John Getz, and Kyle Getz; step-granddaughters, Julia (Jesse) Haskin and Rebecca (Garrett) Gentlage; two step great grandsons, Daniel and Kurt; two brothers, John Linder and wife Norma of Olney and Lester Linder of Olney, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with burial in Crest Haven Cemetery east of Olney.
