Rosemary Higgins, 76, of Olney died Thursday August 5, 2004 at her residence.  Services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with Pastor Gordon Elliott officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney.

Mrs. Higgins was born on September 7, 1927 in Richland County, the daughter of Donald and Louella (Leamon) Scherer. She married Albert W. Higgins on November 22, 1973 in Olney. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2002.

She was retired and had worked in housekeeping at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney. She was a member of First Church of Olney and American Legion Auxiliary.

Mrs. Higgins is survived by a daughter, Patricia Lomas and her husband, Marvin of West Salem; a son, Kenneth Eugene Sager of Woodard, Okla.; a sister, Pat VanCleve of Winston-Salem, N.C.; her stepmother, Elsie Scherer of Olney; two stepbrothers, James Scherer of Sebring, Fla. and Don Scherer of Channel View, Texas; a stepsister, Shirley Holt of Newton; and four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
