Martha Belle Henderson (Plummer)

Anchorage, Alaska resident Martha Belle Plummer, 80, died of cancer Sept. 14, 2007, at home.

Ms. Plummer was born July 24, 1927, in Pleasant Hill, Ill., to Richard V. and Hazel Henderson. During World War II, she worked in ammunition assembly. She was a high school graduate and had worked in outside sales, charitable fundraising and as a Realtor.

Ms. Plummer moved to Alaska in 1980.  She was a past member of Fairview Community Council and helped with elections.  She enjoyed gardening, painting, sewing and baking.

Survivors include her sister, Alice J. Young of Fort Collins, Colo.; brother-in-law, Allen Troutman of Ottawa, Kan.; nieces, Becky Troutman and Nannette Troutman of Kansas City, Mo., and Alice L. Young of Olney, Ill.; nephew, Bill R. Young of Fort Collins; and special friends, Scott Anderson, Donald Peterson and Hilda Llamas of Anchorage, and Jean Eck Wagemann of Shelbyville, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her son, David Michael Plummer; parents; and sisters, Mariam Troutman and JoAnn VanHorn.
