Henry Gassmann

Henry Gassmann, 68, of Olney died Monday May 20, 1996 at his residence.  Services at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney with Father Jerry Wirth officiating. Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Olney.

Gassmann was born November 8, 1927, the son of Zean Goudy and Gertrude (Weber) Gassmann. He married Patricia Zuber February 11, 1956 in Ste. Marie.

He was a retired owner and operator of Zean Gassmann Insurance Company in Olney. He served as bank director for Olney Trust Bank. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Elks, Rotary, American Legion, Petroleum Club and University of Illinois Alumni Association.

He is survived by his wife, of Olney; six sons, Louis H. Gassmann of Olney, Zean Z. Gassmann and his wife, Susan Wallace of Akron, Ohio, James E. Gassmann of St. Louis, Mo., John G. Gassmann and his  wife, Eugenia Sullivan of Sharon, Mass., Frank W. Gassmann of Chicago and Neal Gassmann of Arlington Heights; a daughter, Mary Pat Gassmann and her husband, Glen Jaross of Annapolis, Md.; a brother, Frank C. Gassmann of Madison, Ind.; four sisters, Mary Stonecipher of Olney, Kay Schaub of Fremont, Calif., Martha Kraeger of Chicago and Trudy Reynolds of Rockford and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, John, Zean G. Jr. and George W.; and two sisters, Barbara Harris and Elizabeth Vaughn.
