Esther Blanch Bromm (McClure)

Esther (Bromm) McClure, age 90 of Olney, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Helia Healthcare in Olney. Funeral service in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home. Burial at Crest Haven Memorial Park in Claremont with Pastor Chris Jennette officiating.

Esther was born on July 30, 1927 in Dundas the daughter of Casper and Mary (Seessengood) Bromm. She married Eldon “Bus” Garrett who preceded her in death. She later married Earl McClure who also preceded her in death.

She worked at a grocery store as a clerk and also in a bakery. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Olney where she was a part of the women’s ministry. She enjoyed baking cookies for the kids at the church and also making homemade donuts. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She was a good mom to her family. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Esther is survived by her son Terry Garrett (Gayle) of Euharlee, Georgia; daughter Pam Brown (Brad) of Breese; brother Ralph Bromm (Marilyn) of Olney; sister Emelene Monaco of Middletown, New York; 3 grandchildren, Michael Garrett, Katie Barbeau and Bryce Brown; 3 great-grandchildren, Cory Barbeau, Mathew Barbeau and Audrey Garrett; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands Eldon “Bus” Garrett and Earl McClure, parents Casper and Mary Bromm, brother Floyd Bromm, 3 sisters Alberta Cooley, Virginia Leist, and Ethel Elsie Bromm and good friend Wanda Whitehead.
