Edith Mae Bostic (Aldridge)

Edith Mae Aldridge, 79, of Newton, died Sunday January 14, 2007 at her home.  Funeral services at Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton with Rev. Steve Greiner officiating. Burial in Dundas Cemetery in Dundas.

Mrs. Aldridge was born May 19, 1927 in Olney, the daughter of Walter and Bernadine Catherine (Smith) Bostic. She married Norman L. Aldridge on September 1, 1945. He preceded her in death on February 18, 2001.

She retired from International Shoe Factory after 34 years. When Wal-Mart was constructed in Olney, she worked there and retired after 10 years of service. She was a member of Christian Church of Olney.

Mrs. Aldridge is survived by her sisters, Betty (Gene) Patterson of Olney; Pat Wagner of Newton, Katherine Rogers of Newton, Marilyn (Gary) Brown of Green Valley, Ariz., Joann (Bud) Sanders of Charleston and Sandra (Will) Berger of Dade City, Fla.; special niece and caregiver, Sherry Weger of Oblong; several other nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Frank Aldridge of Olney; and sister-in-law, Mabel Urfer of Willow Hill.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
