Fern Wright (Reed)

KARNAK - Fern Wright Reed, 86, passed away at 5:54 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2007, in Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. Services in Karnak United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Alan Milligan, the Rev. Steve Heisner and the Rev. Tammy Horn officiating. Burial in Anderson Cemetery in Boaz.

Mrs. Reed was born Aug. 10, 1920, in Richland County. She was united in marriage to Paul Reed on July 7, 1942, in Perryville, Mo. They were married for 64 years, until Paul passed away Oct. 2006.

Mrs. Reed was a lifelong member of Karnak United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and a Patron of the Arts at Shawnee Community College. Fern enjoyed traveling with Paul, and had visited every state in the Union. They loved to fish, play games and spend time with their family. Fern loved worshiping the Lord.

She is survived by her daughter, Gae Morris and husband, Scott, of Karnak; two sons, Max Reed and wife, Ocia, of Ledbetter, Ky., and Rex Reed and wife, Cathy, of Jonesboro; a brother, Noble Wright and wife, Doris, of Assumption; seven grandchildren, Gina Biard of Carbondale, Todd Caneer of Benton, Ky., DeSha Bitello of Louisville, Ky., William Blake Reed of Dongola, Bryce F. Reed of Jonesboro, Sarah Schultz of Naperville and Reed Morris of Paducah; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Reed; parents, Silas and Mary Piper Wright; three brothers, Odie, Paul and Ray Edward Wright; and three sisters, Leona Pollard, Zada Angleton and Gennie Stevens.
