Ralph E. Taylor, 97, of Olney, died Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney. Graveside services in Crest Haven Memorial Park in rural Claremont.

Mr. Taylor was born July 26, 1918, in Claremont, the son of Harry Wallace and Blanche (Colwell) Taylor. He married Verna Rosalie Ruble on June 12, 1945, in St. Louis. She preceded him in death on March 10, 2009.

He was a member of Rotary, former Mayor of Louisville, and a Farm Bureau member. He was a member of Louisville United Methodist Church.

Mr. Taylor is survived by a daughter, Jane Holmes and husband Michael, Panama City, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Doris Taylor, of Evansville, Ind.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna, parents, brothers, Roger and James, and sons, Edward and Jeffrey.
