Anna Lee Sparr (Quick)

Anna Lee Quick, age 84, of Mattoon, passed away at 3:25 AM on May 19, 2004 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Care Center. Funeral services at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home with Reverend Marvin Flowers officiating. A graveside service at Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney with Pastor Nathan Killion officiating.

Anna Lee was born May 19, 1920 in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Edward G. and Nancy E. "Nanny" Gillespie Sparr. In 1938, she married Wilfred E. Quick in Washington, IN. He preceded her in death in 1973.

Anna is survived by her children: Jerry G. Quick and wife Frances of Neoga, David J. Quick and wife Polly of Mattoon, Phyllis A. Cummins and husband Jerry of Olney, and Devra L. Johnson of Laughlin, Nevada; and her sister; Nancy G. Taylor and husband Warren of Mattoon. She leaves her grandchildren: Jackie Walker and husband Doug of Olney, Gary B. Cummins of Olney, Clayton Quick of Mattoon, and Lindsay Quick of Mattoon; and a great-grandchild: Jeremy Walker of Olney. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Two sisters preceded her in death.

Mrs. Quick was a member of the Broadway Christian Church for over 30 years. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. She retired from Eastern Illinois University and was a former employee of Arcade Drug Store in Mattoon. Anna Lee enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her hobbies included making costume jewelry and attending rummage sales.
