Letha Mae Ratcliffe (Martin)

Mrs. Letha Ratcliffe Martin, age 50, of 1419 East Laurel Street, passed away yesterday morning, February 24, 1972 at the Richland Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.

A lifelong resident of the County, Mrs. Martin was born August 9, 1921 in the Ebenezer community, the daughter of John Paul Ratcliffe and Lela Bailey Ratcliffe. She was married to Lloyd Martin on December 29, 1945. Burial in Ebenezer Cemetery south of Olney.

Mrs. Martin was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Olney. She had been employed as a bookkeeper by the Triangle Oil Company in Olney. She was also a member of the Olney Women's Club.

She leaves her husband and three children; Mrs. Tracy Lynn Thomas of Terre Haute, Ind., William Bradley Martin with the U.S. Navy at Charleston, S.C. and Kelly Arden Martin at home. There is one grandchild. Other survivors are her mother, Mrs. Lela Locke of Olney, her father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. John Paul Ratcliffe of Olney and a sister, Mrs. Raymond (Signa) Wagner of Moline.
