Glen Miller

Glen E. "Bud" Miller, 93, of Olney, died Sunday, May 12, 2013, at his residence.  Funeral service held at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Pastor Dennis Latta officiating. Burial with full military rites at Haven Hill Memorial Gardens in Olney.

Mr. Miller was born April 12, 1920, in Olney, the son of Joseph Warren and Elma (Schonert) Miller. He married Joy Jennings on June 14, 1940. in Calhoun. She survives.

Bud was an Army veteran and served in World War II, primarily in Europe and Asia. When he returned home to Olney, he became a dairy farmer and founded the Hilltoppers 4-H Club and worked with the first 4-H Lemonade stand. Bud loved to fish and garden. Nothing made him happier than to give away the produce. In later years, he enjoyed mowing the yard.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Joy Miller; son, Milton Michael Miller and wife Linda, of Olney; daughter-in-law, Sally Miller, of Racine, Wis.; grandson, Greg Miller and wife Jessica, of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandson, Jeff Miller and wife Tracy, of Milwaukee, Wis.; granddaughter, Melissa Blank and husband Rodney, of Olney; grandson, Matt Miller and wife Lauren, of Olney; great-grandkids, Sydney Miller, Sean Miller, Casey Miller, Kylie Miller, Langston Blank, Reece Blank and Mallory Miller; and sister, Pauline Grove, of Dundas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Glen E. Miller II.
