Jason Modesitt

Jason Lee Modesitt, 41, of Colorado Springs Colorado, born and raised in Olney, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018, surrounded by loved ones after a battle with terminal brain cancer.

He was born on October 27, 1976 in Olney to Larry and Vickie (Seibert) Modesitt. He attended ERHS and played football for the Olney Tigers. He also worked for his parents who owned Modesitt Trucking.

After a trip to Colorado with his father, Jason fell in love with the landscape and moved to Colorado Springs in 2004 where he became a very successful massage therapist. In Colorado Springs, he was reunited with his best friend from Olney, Jon Pitzer, who would be the best man at his wedding. He also became very good friends with Anthony Vendola and his family.

Jason enjoyed camping, hiking, mountain trekking, and wild stream fishing while always in the company of his beloved companion, his dog Sasha.

Jason is survived by his wife, Julie (Hoffman) Modesitt of Colorado Springs, CO; mother, Vickie Modesitt of Olney; sister, Jennifer (Doug) Dillard of Evansville, IN; nieces Lauren Dillard of Evansville, IN and Allison Dillard of Pittsburg, KS; several aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as his grandad Lee Horton of Evansville, IN.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Modesitt.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-6 PM on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at the VFW in Olney.
