Ruby V. Doty (Keen)

Ruby Virginia Doty Keen, 84, of Lubbock, Texas died November 18, 2004 in Lubbock. Services at the Church of Christ in Lubbock with Ron Redding and Dennis Dees officiating. Entombment in Wilsons' Funeral Directors Cemetery under the direction of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth.

She was born Nov. 25, 1919, in West Salem, Ill., to Alva L. and Nettie C. Barber Doty. She went to be with her Lord on Nov. 18, 2004. She obeyed her Lord in baptism at an early age, remaining faithful until death.

She attended worship services at the Church of Christ on 82nd and Ave. V.

Ruby attended rural schools in Richland County, Ill., graduating from Olney (Ill.) Township High School in 1937 On Nov. 19, 1940, Ruby and Budd Keen were united in marriage in Trinity Springs, Ind. To this union three children were born, Dr. Philip Earl Keen, M.D., of Phoenix, Ariz., Virginia Rose Ander-son of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Aleatha Marie Nall of Longview.

Ruby was a people person.  She enjoyed working in sales at Wacker's Variety Store in Hobbs, N.M., Field enterprise, selling World Book Encyclopedia, Fashion Two Twenty, and Finelle Cosmetics.

Ruby's body was racked with pain since December 1990. She underwent surgery twice, radiation twice, and chemotherapy numerous times. Cancer claimed her life.

Ruby leaves her husband, three children, 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and six sisters.
