Former Bridgeport resident Jennie M. Severns, 87, Paradise Valley, Ariz., died at 7:45 a.m. MT Thursday, March 23, 2006, in Phoenix, Ariz.

Born Oct. 7, 1918, in Richland County, Ill., she was the daughter of Silas C. and Mary F. (Piper) Wright.

She was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church of Bridgeport.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde A. Severns Jr.; and two sisters, Leona Poland and Zada Angleton.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Nancy Eggebrecht and her husband, Tom, of Paradise Valley, Ariz., and Mrs. Rita Hensley and her husband, Dennis, of Centennial, Colo.; a sister, Mrs. Fern Reed and her Husband, Paul, of Karnak; a brother, Noble Wright and his wife, Doris, of Assumption; four grandchildren, Whitney Prosperi, Wade Eggebrecht, Averi Newley and Mitchell Hensley; a great-granddaughter, Annabelle Prosperi; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. May Wright of Nashville, Tenn.

The funeral conducted at Cunningham Funeral Home, 441 Lanterman St., with Brother Joe Eggebrecht officiating. Burial in the Bridgeport City Cemetery.
