Loren E. Cokley

Loren Elvin Cokley, 77, of Algonquin, Illinois died on Wednesday, September 28, 1994 at his home. He was born September 26, 1917 in Parkersburg, Illinois, the son of Walter and Stella (Stevens) Cokley.

Mr. Cokley was employed as a carpenter.

He served in both the U.S. Army and Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Algonquin Moose Lodge and the American Legion Post in Algonquin.

Mr. Cokley is survived by two sons, Joseph Cokley of Algonquin and Andrew Cokley of Waukegan;  a brother, Verlin (June) Cokley of Parkersburg; a sister, Lelia (Myrl) Stephenson of Oblong; and two grandchildren, Ashley and Ben of West Dundee.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Alice Cokley nee Smith, who died in 1992; and two brothers, Orville and Norval.

Private funeral services were held at Congregational Church of Algonquin with private burial in Village of Algonquin Cemetery.
