Rosamond Petty (McIntosh) - Class Of 1935

Rosamond Petty McIntosh, 97, born Virginia Rosamond Petty, on February 9, 1917, died Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at the Westminster Towers Health Center in Orlando, FL.  Memorial service held in the chapel at the First Presbyterian Church of Orlando.

Mrs. McIntosh was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Ralph O. McIntosh in 1999, and also by her brothers Merrill and William Petty, and sister Nadine Petty Perschy.

She is survived by her daughter, Catherine McIntosh Hill and her husband Robert Hill of Kiawah Island, SC and her two sons, John E. McIntosh and his wife, Kay Lou of Port Clinton, OH, and Douglas R McIntosh and his wife JoAnn of Clarksville, TN.  Also surviving Mrs. McIntosh is her sister, Carolyn Petty Doane of Valparaiso, IN.; six grandchildren along with six great grandchildren.

Mrs. McIntosh was born in Petty Township, Lawrence County, IL, grew up in Olney,   and graduated from then Eastern Illinois State Teachers College in Charleston, IL. She and her husband raised their two older children in Pittsburgh, PA. They later moved to Birmingham, MI, Elburn, IL, and Clermont, FL. Mrs. McIntosh had been a resident of Westminster Towers for 18 years.
