Marjorie Piper Schroeder, 88, of Iowa, formerly of Olney and Jasper County, died Sunday January 14, 2007 at Bishop Drumm Care Facility in Johnston, Iowa. 

Mrs. Schroeder was born March 2, 1918 in West Liberty and was raised in Olney, the only child of D.A. and Blanche Piper.  She married Maurice L. (Mack) McCormack of Newton in June 1936.  They resided in Jasper County before moving to St. Louis where they adopted their two children.  In 1953 they moved to River Edge, N.J. until their move to Des Moines, IA in October 1960.  They made their home on St. John’s Road where she continued to live until a few years after Mr. McCormack’s death in 1985.

She worked at the Iowa legislature in the early 1960’s and was the manager of the Des Moines Racquet Club for several years.  She was an active member of Plymouth Congregational Church of Des Moines for nearly 40 years.

She married Davis (Dave) Schroeder of Des Moines in August 1992.  Mrs. Schroeder is survived by her husband, Dave Schroeder; son, Stan McCormack of Scottsdale, AZ; daughter, Ann Cosson of Punaluu, Hawaii; and four grandchildren.
