Ava Hudson (Pasley) - Class Of 1935

Ava Pasley, 93 of Emmett, passed away at Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at a Emmett care center.  Funeral services at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett. Burial at the Emmett Cemetery.

Ava Hudson Pasley was born March 24, 1917 in Parkersburg, Illinois, the second daughter of Charles and Mary Walker Hudson. They moved later to Olney, Illinois. Ava married her high school sweetheart Tom Pasley in 1935 and moved to Nampa in 1936. During WWII years they moved to Bremerton, WA, then returned to Nampa and in 1946 they moved to Emmett.

She had two sons, Dallas Hudson Pasley and Otto Keith Pasley. They joined the Emmett Christian Church in 1947 during John Barney's Ministry where they were charter members of the Loyal Leaders class. Ava was an active member in CWM F, Sundoulai, Ladies Aid, Mission Circle, a deaconess in earlier years, and volunteer Office Secretary. She spent twenty years as Deputy Sheriff, through the terms of four sheriffs-- Bob Worley, Don Rekow, Tony Skoro and Bill McConnell. Officially she was the Drivers License Examiner. However during her first seven years she was also Radio Dispatcher and Police Matron until receiving an office of her own.

Survivors include her son, Dallas and wife Ann and grandsons Jonathan Pasley and Kurtis Pasley: five great grandsons, Sam, David, Brandon, Tyler and Austin; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, her son Keith, her parents and sister Mildred Atkins.
