Virgil Clifton Stewart

Virgil Clifton Stewart, 87, of Mooresville, Indiana, formerly of Gibson City, died on Monday March 7, 2005 in Mooresville.  Mr. Stewart was born Oct. 28, 1917, in Olney, a son of Clifton McCoy and Jessie Belle (Bullard) Stewart. He married Elna L. Kidd on Aug. 25, 1962, in Gibson City. She died March 6, 1989.

Mr. Stewart served in the Army during World War II and was a welder for Swanson Pump and Well Drilling of Gibson City for 51 years. He retired when he was 75.

He was a member of Brotherton-Kelly VFW Post 6289.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Marilyn Rodgers of Streator; three step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services at Drummer Township Cemetery, Gibson City. Military rites accorded by Lee Lowery American Legion Post 568 and Brotherton-Kelly VFW Post 6289, both of Gibson City.

his fathers name is actually Clifton McCoy Stewart and his mother Jessie Belle Bullard.
