LaVerne M. Nuding, 83, of Olney died Tuesday April 4, 2000 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.

Funeral services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Rev. Paul R. Smith and Rev. Charles McDonald officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney.

Mrs. Nuding was born February 20, 1917 in Clay County, the daughter of Charles and Mayme (Schnepper) Thomann. She married George Nuding July 8, 1936 in Olney. He preceded her in death in May of 1966.

She was retired from Richland Memorial Hospital where she worked in the kitchen and was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Olney and a member of United Methodist Women.

Mrs. Nuding is survived by one son, Michael Allen Nuding and his wife, Tammy of Oakley; two daughters, Maxine Smith and her husband, Paul R. of Olney and Mary Alice Rogers and her husband, Gary of Moade; eight grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Herman and Fred Thomann and two sisters, Beulah Kessler and Pauline Diemel.
