Marian Shaw (Coomer) - Class Of 1935

Marian(Shaw)Wright-Coomer, 91, of Olney, died Sunday, September 28, 2008, at her residence.  Funeral services in the Chapel of Stasi-Grove Funeral Home in Olney with Rev. Gary Pearce officiating. Burial in Sumner City Cemetery.

Mrs. Wright-Coomer was born on September 12, 1917, in Hettick, the daughter of Hugh and Lyda (DeMunbrun) Shaw. She married Volney Wright on November 23, 1939, in Henderson, Ky., and he preceded her in death. She later married Paul Coomer in March 1982, in Olney, and he preceded her in death.

She was a member of Free Methodist Church in Vincennes, Ind., Immanuel United Methodist Church in Olney, and Vincennes Free Methodist Church I.M.C. Women's Home Extension Association. She worked at International Shoe Factory, Denham's Hardware Store and Don's Department Store in Olney. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Mrs. Wright-Coomer is survived by her sons, Steven Wright and his wife, Connie, of Olney, and Dan Wright, of Olney; daughter, Barbara Davis, of Olney; stepdaughters, Kathy Alton and her husband, Steve, of Vincennes, Ind., and Leona Peach and her husband, Bob, of Effingham; stepson, Ron Coomer, of Vincennes, Ind.; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Lyda Shaw; two husbands, Volney Wright and Paul Coomer; two brothers, Howard and Robert Shaw; and three sisters, Edna Meadows, Betty McDonald, and Ruthie Shaw, in infancy.
