Charles Stivers

Charles E. Stivers, age 54, Hammond, Indiana passed away Thursday, November 4, 1971 at St. Margaret Hospital in Hammond.

Mr. Stivers was born January 15, 1917 in Olney, Illinois, son of Bert and Evans (Grubb) Stivers. He married Sarah Stewart and she survives.

Mr. Stivers had been a resident of Hammond for the past 29 years; he was an employee of Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah; six sons, Edward of Schererville, Charles William, Robert, James, Terry and Thomas all at home; four daughters, Betty Gray of Lowell, Nancy Geberin of Lafayette, Patricia and Judy both at home; three sisters, Mary of Calumet City, IL, Zerus Shinkle of Cedar Lake, Hulda Logsdon of Louisville, KY; one brother, Ray of Charleston, IL.

Funeral services at Solan Funeral Home, Hammond with burial in Memory Lane Memorial Cemetery, Schererville.
