Wilson Hall - Class Of 1934

Wilson C. Hall Class of 1934Wilson "Slim" Cammon Hall age 85, passed away July 29, 2001 at Porter Memorial Hospital in Valparaiso, Indiana. He was born November 13, 1915 in Bible Grove, Illinois, the son of Ellis and Mae (Cammon) Hall. He was a Hobart, Indiana resident for 2 1/2 years resided in Portage for 44 years.

He graduated from high school in Olney, Illinois, he was married on June 16, 1951, in Flora, Illinois to Mavis M. Moore. He was employed as an iron worker for Hunter Corp. of Olney, Illinois for 47 years. He was the union steward for the Iron Workers Union Local 395 and a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Greenville, Mississippi.

He is survived by his beloved family, his wife, Mavis Hall of Hobart; son, Dwayne Hall of Chicago, Illinois; daughters, Elaine (Lou) Stanko and Shirley (Richard) Cunningham both of Portage; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; brothers, George (Ruth) Hall of Louisville, Illinois and Harold Hall of St. Elmo, Illinois; sister, Francis Runyon of Wood River, Illinois; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edgar and Aden, and sister, Lois Myers.

Services at the Engel Funeral Home, Portage, Indiana with Pastor Don Good of the Bible Baptist Church officiating. Interment in McCool Cemetery, Portage.
