Harold Gruneisen - Class Of 1934

Harold F. Gruneisen, 86, of Memphis, Michigan entered into Eternal Life on Thursday February 13, 2003 in Peoria, Arizona.  Funeral service at All Saints Church in Memphis with Reverend Joseph R. Horn presiding. Interment in Christian Memorial Cultrual Center in Speaker Township.

Mr. Gruneisen was born on September 10, 1918 in Dundas, the son of John and Lula (Webber) Gruneisen. He married Bernadine A. Rutkofske on September 22, 1945 in Columbus Township. She preceded him in death on May 25, 1985.

He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was employed as a rural mail carrier in the Memphis, Mich. area for many years. He served his country faithfully during World War II as a member of the U.S. Army. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Memphis, as well as the American Legion. He served on the school board in Memphis and was instrumenta,l as a member of the high school Booster Club, in establishing the Memphis High School football field.

Mr. Gruneisen is survived by a son, James Gruneisen and his wife, Janet of Peoria, Ariz.; two daughters, Janet Gulash and her husband, Robert of Caseville, Mich.; and Judy Glynn of Farmington Hills, Mich; his sister, Alice Marie Wicker of Kentucky and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a grandson.
