Mrs. Neva Esther (Hickel) Shores, 52, of 1220 DeWitt, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Frank Bailey in Charleston, Illinois on February 9, 1968. Mrs. Shores had been in ill health about three years prior to retiring because of ill health. Mrs. Shores was employed at the local S.S. Kresge store for 14 years, 12 of them as fountain manager.

Mrs. Shores was born January 28, 1916 near Noble, Illinois, a daughter of John Earl and Murel E. (Pipher) Hickel. She was married to Shelby Oneal Shores at Geneva on April 2, 1950. He survives.

She is survived by her husband; her mother, who resides in Olney; a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Joann) Bailey of Charleston; a son, William G. Mackey of Taylorville and two grandchildren.

She was a member of the First Christian Church.

Burial in Janesville Cemetery.
