George Ronald Clark - Class Of 1934

 

George R. (Doc) Clark, 52, production foreman of the Olney Daily Mail, died today, (January 1969) at his home, 1212 N. Morgan Street.

He was born December 26, 1917 in Richland County, the son of Emet Clark and Maud Ward Clark.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1939 to 1945 as a gunner's mate first class. He was awarded the Purple Heart, the Asiatic Pacific Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, American Theatre Ribbon and American Defense Ribbon. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He was a member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church.

He was married to Mildred Pellum in 1944.

Surviving are his widow, Mildred; a daughter, Sue; his mother, Mrs. Maud Clark of Olney; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Provines and Miss Winnie Clark of Olney and Mrs. Clarice Board of Orlando, Fla.; and one brother, James Clark of Calhoun.

Funeral services at Summers-Rainey Funeral Home with Rev. Jahn Kauffman in charge. Burial in Maple Dale Cemetery in south Olney.
