Ruby Waggoner (Jennings)

Ruby A. Jennings, 96, of Olney died Saturday January 19, 2013 in Paris, Illinois. Funeral services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Pastor Troy Warner officiating. Burial in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Ruby was born on June 24, 1916 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the daughter of Eddie Waggoner and Iva (Ammerman). She married Herman E. Jennings on February 26, 1938. He preceded her in death on October 17, 1998.

Ruby graduated from Olney Sanitarium School of Nursing in 1937, she practiced Nursing for 50+ years in the Olney area. She was the Medical Supervisor at Richland Memorial Hospital when it opened. Later, she was the nurse for Dr. Larry Knox. She married Herman E. Jennings on February 26, 1938 in Olney. They were married for 60 years and raised their family on a farm south of Olney.

She is survived by her son, Bill Jennings and wife Barb of Olney; daughter, Glenda Berry and husband Wayne Jr. of Paris, IL; grandchildren, Diane Slough and husband Scott, Lori Allen and husband Ralph, Darcy Trego, Pat Jennings and wife Jessica, and Greg Runyon and wife Cheryl; great grandchildren, Owen Jennings, Calla Cuff, Caitlin Boewe, Francesca Boewe, Tyler Boewe, Hannah Allen, Rachel Allen, Elizabeth Allen, Ralph Walker Allen, Dalton Bell-Trego, and Tatum Trego; great great grandchild, Ezekiel Cuff; sister-in-law, Dorotha Waggoner; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, stepmother, Mabel Waggoner, and brothers, Ray Waggoner, Dale (Dorothy) Waggoner, Don (Lucy) Waggoner, and Wendell (Dorothy) Hart.
