Ray Ledeker

Ray W. Ledeker, 63 of Masonville, Iowa passed away April 10, 1979 in a Manchester, Iowa hospital after a long illness.  Burial in Oakland Cemetery, Manchester, Iowa.

Ray, son of Albert and Ethel (Shipley) Ledeker, was born October 23, 1915 on the parental farm near Olney, Ill.  He married Velma Jane Peavler November 2, 1944 at Olney, Illinois.

He received his elementary education in the rural schools near Olney.  He attended and graduated from the Olney High School.  Following his graduation, he worked on farms in northern Illinois until entering the U.S. Army in 1941.  He served in the army until receiving his discharge in 1945.

Following his return from the service, they engaged in farming near LeRoy, IL.  In 1962 they came to a farm three miles north of Masonville.

He was a member of Eastview Christian Church, Bloomington when he was a resident of McLean County, Illinois.

Survivors include his wife, Velma; a son, Leslie Ray of rural Masonville; two daughters. Mrs. Joane Randall of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Dee Ritter of Palo; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd Ledeker of Calhoun, IL and Byrl Ledeker of Olney, IL; two sisters, Mrs. Paul Bratton and Mrs. Joe Crane, both of Olney.
