Memorial services for Mrs. Evelyn E. Lurvey, 88, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Sunrise Assisted Living, 960 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville. Officiating will be her daughter, the Rev. Scheryl Seymour.

Born September 21, 1917, in Olney, Ill., the daughter of Theodore and Lena (nee Blatter) Scherer, she died Saturday, June 11, 2005.

At age 16, Evelyn entered UW, majoring in chemistry. A member of the Presbyterian Church, she served faithfully in many capacities. A longtime resident of Joliet, Ill. and later, Rogers, Ark., she volunteered at the local hospitals and with the Rogers Meals on Wheels.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna Hilbrich and Patricia Lurvey, both of Naperville, and Scheryl Seymour of Oregon, Wis.; grandchildren, Jeff (Debbie) Seymour of Charlotte, N.C., David Hilbrich of Dallas, Catherine Hilbrich of St. Cloud, Minn. and Jana (Jose) Rodriguez of Monroe, Wis.; and great grandchildren, Alex Rodriguez and Morgan Seymour.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Donald. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
