Helen Margaret (Day) Brockman, 91, died peacefully Wednesday, August 15, 2007, at her residence with her beloved husband of 70 years, Howard L. Brockman Sr., and her two children at her side.

Mrs. Brockman was born April 28, 1916, in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Owen and Odessa Day. She and her husband, Howard had been long term residents of Stuart, Florida, moving from Olney, Illinois.  No matter where she lived, Olney was always her heart's home.

Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother and friend to many. She is best remembered for her sense of humor, love of life and her beautiful smile, which she lent generously to all she encountered. Mrs. Brockman was a great lady. She will be carried in her family's hearts forever. The family would like to thank all those who so lovingly cared for her during her last years.

She was a homemaker, member of Mariner Sands Chapel and member of Mariner Sands Golf and Country Club, Stuart.

Mrs. Brockman is survived by her husband, Howard L. Brockman Sr.; son, Howard L. Brockman Jr. and wife, Margot; daughter, Ann C. Cooper and husband, Robert; five grandchildren, one great-grandson, and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, George Day.

A memorial service was held at Mariner Sands Chapel in Stuart, Fla. Martin Funeral Home & Crematory in Stuart, Fla., in charge of arrangements.
