Charles Stevens - Class Of 1934

Charles Lynn Stevens, 88, of Olney, died at 4:47 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2005, at his residence.  Funeral services at the Summers-Kistler Funeral Home.  Burial with full military rites at Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney.

Mr. Stevens was born on April 26, 1916, in Brookfield, Mo., the son of Lynn Cooper and Bertha Lucille (Streeper) Stevens. He married Elaine Pellum on August 5, 1939, in Henderson, Ky. She preceded him in death on May 16, 1997.  He married Dorothy Yunck. She survives.

He was a retired rural mail carrier and a member of lmmanuel United Methodist Church in Olney. He was also a member of American Legion in Olney for 60 years and a member of Masonic Lodge of Olney for 65 years.

Mr. Stevens is survived by his wife, Dorothy Stevens, of Olney; four children, Larry Stevens and his wife, Sharon, of Edwardsville, Linda Stanclift, of Lawrenceville, Jim Stevens and his wife, Debbie, of Greenville, and Rick Stevens, of Indianapolis, Ind.; two stepdaughters, Diane Neale and her husband, Ford, of Malibu, and Lauren Stout, of Conway, Ark.; a sister, Dorothy Threet and her husband, Jack, of Anacortes, Wash.; and 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife and his parents.
