Carolyn Coen, 67, Olney died Friday June 29, 1984 at Richland Memorial Hospital.  Services held at Zirkle Funeral Home with Dr. W.A. Robinson presiding. Burial at the Haven Hill Cemetery.

Miss Coen was born September 29, 1916 in Olney, the daughter of James T. and Cecil Matthews Coen.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Miss Coen won the national flute contest her senior year in high school and later earned her Bachelor's and Master's degree in music from Illinois Wesleyan University.  She played in the NYA Symphony and Civic Orchestra in Chicago and also the Oklahoma City Symphony for two years.

Survivors include one sister, Miss Mildred Coen, Olney and several cousins.
