Evelyn Tammany, 97, of Olney died Tuesday September 11, 2012 at Burgin Manor in Olney.

Evelyn was born on August 31, 1915 in Richland County, Illinois, the daughter of Everett Owen Sutherlin and Lulu (Richardson).

She graduated Olney Township High School Class of 1934. Evelyn was employed by GTE/Verizon for 24 years. She was a member of Elm Street Christian Church, Clio Club, and the VFW Auxiliary. Evelyn was skilled at knitting, piecing quilts, and other craft work. She also loved fishing and the outdoors.  Evelyn was best known for her sense of humor and generosity. She will be greatly missed.

She was survived by her sister-in-law, six nieces, and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters, two nieces and two nephews.
