Richard L. Zerkle 63, Greenwood, Indiana passed away, Monday, March 19, 2007.  Born on Dec. 17, 1943 in Olney, IL, he was the son of the late Everette and Louise Zerkle.

He worked for the State of Indiana for 37 years, before retiring.

He was a longtime member of Friedens United Church of Christ, where he loved the choir. He enjoyed traveling, reading and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his loving wife, Kathryn (Campbell) Zerkle; his son, Noel W. (Eun K.) Taylor of California; three step-children, Shari A. McElyea of Whiteland, Roy L. (Laurie K.) Lancaster of Leonardtown, MD., and Amy L. Frederick of Indianapolis; two brothers Bob (Beth) Zerkle of Mascoutah, IL and John (Cathy) Zerkle of Spencer, IN.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Rev. Marc Hayden will conduct a service at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 23 at Friedens United Church of Christ, 8300 S. Meridian Street.
