Dorothy Stacey (Cook) - Class Of 1936

Dorothy E. Cook, age 80, of Portland, Oregon died January 24, 1999 in Portland.  Services in Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes.  Private interment in Lincoln Memorial Park.

Mrs. Cook was born Dec. 9, 1918, in Olney, Illinois daughter of Ezra C. and Sarah G. Metcalf Stacey.  She married George Cook in 1952 and he died in 1996.

She moved to Portland in 1942 and owned and operated Whoz Inn Tavern for about 10 years before her retirement in 1982. She moved to Gresham in the late 1970s.

Survivors include her son, Ken Martin of Redmond; daughter, Nancy Furry of Portland; stepdaughters, Dolores Vidoni of Tigard and Georgia Thomas of Wilsonville; sisters, Violet Jones and Helen Berry, both of Olney; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests remembrances to the Leukemia Society.
